McKechnie, Jean Elizabeth (Delaney)
90 years young, passed away peacefully October 7, 2011 at Hospice Simcoe, surrounded by family members. Born in 1921, Jean was the last surviving member of her family. She is predeceased by her infant son James, brother Hugh, an RCAF casualty of WW ll, sister Doris, and brother Patrick. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Donald “Mac”, sons Hugh (Annalee) and Brian (Shelley), grandchildren Kyle (Jennifer), Scott, Daryl and Tara Lynn, great grandchildren Owen and Sarah, and many nieces and nephews. Always a northern girl, Jean lived in Chapleau until age 65, when she and Mac moved to Sault Ste Marie for 24 years and then to the IOOF Retirement Home in Barrie for the past year. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. John Vianney Church, 13 Baldwin Lane, Barrie on Monday morning, October 10th at 11 o'clock.
