Jean Trainor passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie, Ontario, on February 25th, 2026 at the age of 85 years. Born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Issac and Ethel Berelovitch, and the last surviving member of her siblings.
Jean was a woman of strong conviction and many words. She was a dedicated volunteer, giving her time generously to the Barrie Optimist Club and Am Shalom Synagogue for many years. She cherished her roots in Atlantic Canada and enjoyed her frequent trips back home to Nova Scotia to visit family and lifelong friends.
She is survived by her children: Tim (Shannon) of Arthur, ON; Michael of Barrie; and Kathy Demings of Stellarton, NS. She also leaves behind four grandchildren. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Harold "Sonny" Trainor, in 2013.
