McCann, Mildred Jean
Jean McCann died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on December 16th, 2013. Jean was the beloved wife of the late Leo McCann, loving mother of Patricia Audet (Jacques), Michael (Barbara), Margaret Big Canoe (Ted), John (Deborah), Brian (Margaret), James (Elizabeth), David (Doris), Douglas and the late Bernard and Harry. She is fondly remembered by her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Jean was the daughter of the late Edward Shear and Mildred Hodgins and sister of the late Madge Crookall (Richard). Friends may pay their respects at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie, on Thursday December 19th from 2 to 4 pm. and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, 65 Amelia Street, Barrie, on Friday, December 20, 2013, at 10 am. The interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Jean successfully raised a family of ten children. She was an ardent believer in the value of sport activities and formidable fan of her favourite teams. She also found time to involve herself in Church, Community and Country activities. Her contributions were recognized by many awards. A long life well lived!
