In Loving Memory of Joan Gray
Joan Gray, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully on November 11th, 2023, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. She joins her husband Herman Gray in eternal rest.
Joan was born on April 1st, 1935 in Scarborough, Ontario. In 1955 she married Herman Gray, the love of her life, and together they embarked on a journey filled with joy, challenges, and countless shared memories. Their love was a testament to the enduring power of commitment and, even after Herman passed away in 1989, Joan continued to carry the torch of their love with grace and strength.
Family was the cornerstone of Joan’s life. She is survived by her 5 children -- Sharon Frazer (Fred), Danny Gray, Earl Gray (Linda), Lynn Gray (the late Steve Lemay), and Randy Gray -- 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Joan dedicated herself to creating a loving home for the family. Her home was where laughter echoed, stories were shared, and love was served alongside every meal. Her spirit extended beyond her immediate family, reaching out to friends with the same warmth and generosity. She touched the lives of many with her kindness, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. In her leisure time, Joan enjoyed knitting and various crafts which she passionately pursued.
Joan’s passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her. As we mourn her loss, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the love she shared.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the support and condolences received during this difficult time and extend an invitation to join them in celebrating Joan’s life on Saturday, November 18th, 2023 from 1 – 3 PM at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie. Words of remembrance will be shared at 1:30 PM.
