With the heaviest of hearts, we announce the peaceful passing at her home of our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother.
Ann was born in Raalte, Holland on October 18, 1936. Her family immigrated to Canada in June of 1951. Ann peacefully passed on Thursday, September 19th, 2024 in her 88th year.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Leo of 61 years, her children Teresa and her husband Joe, and son John, her sister Toni, Brother Marinus and sisters Corrie and Hilda. Predeceased by her sisters Diny and Monnie and brother Antoon. Deeply missed by her furry friend Stella. Will be missed by extended family members and many dear friends.
Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Thursday, September 26th, 2024 from 6-8 pm. Funeral Mass will take place at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 65 Amelia St., Barrie the following day on Friday, September 27th, 2024 at 10 am. Interment to immediately follow at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, 208 Sunnidale Rd., Barrie. A Livestream of the Funeral Mass will be made available on the St. Mary's Church Facebook page. Floral tributes are welcomed as Ann had a tremendous passion for flowers. If desired, donations may be made to Hospice Simcoe and are greatly appreciated by the family. The family would like to thank Colleen Wormsley, Dr. Jacky Lai and Koral Wilsom for their compassion and assistance with Ann's care.
