CLARK, John Henry
Passed away while surrounded by family on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 in his 89th year. Cherished husband to Joan Madeline for over 68 years. Loving and devoted father to Myrna, Barbara, John Jr., Suzanne, Michael and Mary. Grandfather to Ryan, Katie, Adam, Will, Sam, John, Vashti, Madeline and Maya. John Henry was a very hard-working, selfless, compassionate, kind and caring man who enjoyed the great outdoors, especially fishing and cross-country skiing in his younger days with his children, and later grandchildren. He taught his sons and grandsons the craft of a patient fisherman at the family cottage that he so dearly loved. He enriched the lives of those around him with his gentle, thoughtful, and warm approachable manner. He was a conservationist, ever caring for the environment. He was a quiet man of few words, yet his advice was always sought. Friends and family will be received at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet’s Point Road, Barrie, on Sunday, February 5, 2017 starting at 1pm. Visitation from 11am. Reception to follow.
