REBURN, John Milton
On Sunday, December 19, 2010, John Reburn, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend passed away in his 84th year at Roberta Place in Barrie, Ontario. John was born in Whitfield, Ontario, on October 6th, 1927 to Milton and Edith Reburn (Predeceased). Also predeceased by sister Evelyn Pacey (Wilson) and brother George. Fondly remembered by sister-in-law, Marjorie Reburn all of Shelburne. John grew up in Horning's Mills and Shelburne where he met his wife of 55 years, Lois (nee Smellie). He worked with Ontario Hydro since the age of 16 years and resided in Brampton and Barrie (since 1981) and summered in Muskoka. John was a long-standing member of the Masonic Lorne Lodge #337 in Shelburne. Loving and devoted father to Richard (Lea Ellen) and Robert, all of Barrie. John will be sadly missed by his wife's family Douglas and Marion Wake, Jane MacIsaac (Burke -predeceased) and Edward and Theresa Smellie. Forever remembered by his nieces and nephews, “hydro buddies” and dear friends. John enjoyed meeting people wherever he went, watched any sport on TV and truly loved working for 13 years with the Barrie Colts. Family and friends will be received at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME, 201 Minet's Point Road, Barrie, Ontario on Monday, December 27, 2010 from 2-4 p.m., and 7-9 p.m. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 10 a.m. until time of funeral service in the chapel at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the charity of your choice.
