John Newell, of Oro Station, died peacefully on August 15, 2023 after a short battle with cancer. He was 82 years old.
John was known for his zest for life. He was an active outdoorsman and he loved hunting and to get out on the water and fish. John had a green thumb and a passion for gardening, especially roses.
John was an active member of the Masonic Lodge, where he created many happy memories and cultivated many long-lasting friendships.
John loved to tinker and try to make things work. He could fix anything! He was very proud of his Irish heritage and one of his fondest memories was his trip to Ireland.
John had a sense of humour that was always playful and fun.
John; you will be greatly missed. He is survived by his daughter Suzanne (Stéphane). He is predeceased by his father (Jack), his mother (Ella) and his sister (Mary).
As per John’s wishes, a small ceremony will be held with immediate family.
