Perkins, John
In his 69th year, of Barrie, Ontario, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 5th, 2015, at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre. Born in Prestwich, England to Frank and Kathleen Perkins. John moved to Canada in 1976 and soon after met the love of his life, Nancy (nee Duivenvoorde). John remained happily married for 37 years. John and Nancy were blessed with two wonderful children, Catherine (34) and Michael (28). John was a loving and caring man who would do anything for anybody. John is survived by brothers Frank Perkins (Ann), George Perkins (Christine), and sisters Kay Gamble (Joe) and Alison Perkins. Loving son-in-law of John and Margaret Duivenvoorde. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who have met him. Friends will be received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie, on Friday October 9th, from 7pm until 9pm. A celebration of life will be held in the chapel on Saturday October 10th, 2015 at 11am. In John’s memory, please consider having a P.S.A. test to combat early prostate cancer.
