Peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday November 9th, 2013 at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie in his 79th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Doreen for 55 years. Dear father of Paul (Cindy) of Calgary, Greg of Barrie, and Chris (Daisy) of Toronto. Proud Poppa of 6 grandchildren and 3 great grand children. Survived by his sister Terry Bullard of Michigan and mother-in law Phyllis Petty of Barrie. Family and friends will be received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Homes 30 Worsley St., Barrie, on Wednesday November 13, 2013, from 2 - 4 pm, and 7- 9 pm. A celebration of John's life will take place in the chapel on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 11 am. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation or the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre Oncology Department.
