John (Jack) Robertson, in his 97th year, passed away peacefully at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie on Friday, December 26, 2014 in the presence of his beloved wife of 68 years, Margaret (Cotton). Proud father of Doug (Janice), Don, Janice (Steve) and Karen (Zsolt). Loving Grandpa of Steven, Julie (Guy), Daniel and Katelin. Loving Great Grandpa to Aiden, Bryden, Sébastien and Théodore. Survived by his niece & nephew Jean and Jim (Debbie) Armitage. Jack was predeceased by his parents Charles and Mary Robertson, brother Charlie and sister Wilma (Oscar Armitage), all of Sudbury. Fondly remembered by Beverley (James Sorbara), and many good friends and neighbours. Jack was very proud of his Scottish heritage and of his service with the Canadian Army from 1940-1945. To honour Jack’s wishes, cremation will be followed by a private family service and burial at a later date. Donations to the Hospital for Sick Children or Hospice Simcoe would be greatly appreciated by the family. We also thank all those who provided Jack with such excellent care during his final days.
