At home, peacefully in his sleep, on Thursday, November 4th, 2021. John Wright Cowie age 89. Beloved husband of Eileen (Shepherd) Cowie for 65 years. Loving and devoted father of Dianne (James Dodds), Graeme (Judy Sargent), Sandra (Denis Murphy) and Scott (Leslie Sharp). Proud and cherished grandfather of Ashley (Ken Kwan), Courtney (Nick Falzone), Brittany (Jared Scott), Matthew, Joshua (Kristy Trebinskie), the late Craig, Brendon (Ashlea Selskey), Cory (Melissa Binsell), Tess and Rachel and great-grandfather of Sophia, Mason, Camden, Oliver, Greyson, Joel, Finnley, Addison, Colton and Peyton. Predeceased by his parents James and Elizabeth (McPherson) Cowie. Dear brother of Grace Murray (James). Predeceased by siblings Mary Patterson (Jack), Margaret Geddes (James), James (Margaret) and Victor (Norma). Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Friends may pay respects at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Wednesday, November 10th, 2021 from 9 – 11 a.m followed by a service in the Chapel. Interment at the Glenview Memorial Gardens, 7541 Hwy 50., Woodbridge, Ontario. Memorial donations to the Ontario Lung Association or the Canadian Cancer Society are greatly appreciated by the family.
