Dear Family and Friends,

We are deeply saddened to announce Judith Anne MacKay-Kowalski passed, peacefully, on Sunday, March 13, 2022. Loving wife of Kurt Kowalski for over 23 years. Beloved mother of Scott Campbell, Glenn Campbell, Kelly (Rob) Nesbitt and Todd (Andrea) Campbell, and cherished grandmother of Stefan, Matthew, Lukas, Colin, Allison, Sarah, Sydney, Skyla and Sophie. Beloved sister of Shirley (Robert) Langford and Bruce (Yvonne) MacKay, and cherished aunt by her many nieces and nephews. Judith is predeceased by her parents Roy and Marjorie (Clayton) MacKay, her brother Ross MacKay and her son Timothy “Timmy” Campbell.

Judith recently celebrated her 81st birthday and was keeping busy working on one of her many projects that included painting, family photo albums, knitting and practicing Tai Chi (and keeping squirrels out of her bird feeder!).

Never one to shy away from a challenge, she maintained her sense of purpose, creativity and positivity throughout.  A keen nature lover, she recognized a certain harmony between all living things – her own Yin & Yang of sorts.  She was a great teacher…and a great student, always wanting to learn with the times and even be ahead of it!

Although recent COVID restrictions put a damper on her mobility and in-person interactions, she kept her spirits up and maintained a very optimistic outlook and philosophical approach to life that was a mixture of “can do” and "que sera sera”.

She will be missed, dearly, but know that her faith, kindness and tenacity lives on in each of those she has touched. She was always a lady with a gentle beautiful soul.

Judith’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Wendy Parry for the friendship and support she gave over the many years, Kerry O’Connor, as well as the dedicated team of Personal Support Workers and the many others from her community.

Guests will be received for visitation on Thursday, March 24, 2022  at 12:30pm. The Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:00 PM at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie. Light refreshments will be served in the lounge following the Service.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory would be greatly appreciated by Judith’s Family to either of the following charities:

The Canadian Mental Health Association to which she dedicated many years of her career and life; or, The Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre.

Condolences
