June Marie Cuculick

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of June Marie Cuculick (nee Prosser) who passed away peacefully on May 13th, 2021.
Beloved wife of the late George Cuculick (d.1999) and the much loved Mother of Steven Cuculick and Daughter-in Law Christine Harrington, and the proud Nanny of Ellery and Avery Cuculick.

Predeceased by parents Gertrude (Rowe) and Fred Prosser, and beloved siblings Ross (Louise), Ted (Pauline), Harold “Sam” (Verna), Helen (Bill), Bill (Iris), Betty (Jim), Richard “Dick” (Mary), and Mae (Forbes), and survived by loving sister Anne (Jim).

June began life on the farm in Sunnidale Township and grew up in the “town of friendly people”, Stayner. In her younger years, June was a proud Bell Telephone switchboard operator. Committed to her job, she was an exemplary employee earning promotions and eventually moving to Barrie. Settling into a boarding house, with The Girls, with whom she had many cherished memories.

It was in Barrie when June met and married her beloved George, and soon after they were blessed by the arrival of their son Steven.
June and George, as they became affectionately known as, were surrounded with many friends, usually on Friday nights, and family on Saturday nights!

In the later years, June and George enjoyed travelling and spent many years vacationing in Florida with the gang. Many fond memories and stories have been shared over the years, and have become legendary! It is these stories that have become a great comfort at this difficult and sad time.

June also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, that will continue to tell the stories and keep the memories alive.
Here’s to you June. We love you and we will miss you!

We would also like to thank the nurses at RVH, Surgery 3. Merideth, Larissa, Diana, Leah, Erin, Madison, Emily, Jen, Karen, Natalie, and Tammy in Palliative Care. Their kindness, compassion and care allowed for June’s Transition to be comfortable and peaceful. Thank you!
