Bristow, K. Louis Lou Bristow, well known retired Mechanical Contractor in the Simcoe County area passed away January 8th,2011. Throughout his business career he was V.P. of L.T. Bristow Plbg.& Htg., President of Bristow Mechanical, and President of The Senior Alliance. He was an active member of the Jaycees of Barrie; the Barrie Curling Club and a member of C.O.P.A. As a Pilot he enjoyed flying and fishing in the north country; he also had many adventures driving his motor home through Mexico and Central America. Lou was a noted Orchid grower and breeder and had several thousand orchids in his greenhouses. He gave up this major endeavour when he began to travel extensively. As well, he was a master cabinet maker much to the delight of his family.
The sparkle in his eyes, and his infectious laugh, will be sorely missed by his wife Sheila Maxine (Armstrong) and his daughters Willow Michaud (Dale); Cynthia Allen (Ron); Pamela Bristow (Steve); and son William Bristow (Maria); his grandchildren Matthew, Dylan, Stephen, Stephanie, Candace, Jai, Edielee, Sabriane, Sampson, Juan and Nicholas; also his great-grandchildren Nathaniel, William, Malcolm and Emmi , his sister Alma Hunter, brother Norman Bristow and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME, 201 Minet’s Point Road (at Yonge St.), on Monday, January 10th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel on Tuesday, January 11th at 11:00 a.m. followed by cremation.
