Suddenly but peacefully passed in Penetanguishene, Ontario on Monday, October 2nd, 2023 at the age of 87 years. Beloved husband of the late Shirley (née Kelly, 2020) for 56 years. Loving father of Patrick (Brenda Spearman) Crowe and Kelly Crowe. Proud grandfather of Emma and Madeline. Dear brother of Ruby Horvath, Shirley Crowe, the late Irwin, Elmer, Helen, Isabelle, Elsie and Edna. Will be missed by extended family members and dear friends.
Ken always felt he was a country boy at heart and loved nothing more than a drive in the country to look at a beautiful stand of trees, identify livestock and comment on how thick and tall the corn was.
Ken also loved moose and deer hunting and celebrated his 58th hunt in 2022 with his dear friend Wayne (Weiner) Barber. He was a great storyteller and shared many tales that had everyone laughing.
Ken and family spent many years playing with The Barrie & District Pipes and Drums and he made many lifelong friends. He loved his Irish-Scots heritage and loved going to the Highland Games even as recently as August 2023.
Dad loved all his dogs over the years and his most recent pup Piper, offered great companionship after the passing of our mother in 2020. He will continue to stay and be spoiled by Kelly and spend his vacations up North with Pat and Brenda.
In keeping with Ken’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service will occur at the Grenfel Cemetery, 1980 Sunnidale Rd., Grenfel on Thursday, October 12th, 2023 at 3 pm. Memorial donations in Ken’s memory may be made to the Sick Kids Hospital or an Ontario SPCA location within Simcoe County would be greatly appreciated by the family.
