At the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie, on Sunday, July 29, 2012, in her 90th year. Irene (nee Smith), beloved wife of the late LCol. Kenneth Ian “Doc” Jefferson, CD, RCD. and the late Harold Roach. Loving mother of Dr. Ken Jefferson (Mary) and Carol Prescott (Gerry). Cherished grandmother of Ian Prescott (Senya), Emma Prescott (Rob) and A/SLt. Cameron Prescott, RCN. Dear sister of Betty Nixon (Jack) and the late Roy Smith (surviving spouse Barb Kissick). Aunt Irene will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews. The family would like to acknowledge all of Irene's special friends and extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Fred Strangway for his care, compassion and guidance, Dr. J. Kamra, Dr. E. Lalor, CCAC, Katie and the Bayshore Nursing Team and the RVH Palliative Care Team. Friends and family will be received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 11 AM until time of funeral service in the chapel at 1 o'clock.
