We are sad to announce the passing of Larry Allan Boyd at his home in Barrie on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at the age of 81 years.
After a 7 month stay in the hospital, Larry was able to return home to enjoy the summer with his family and friends. With the loving support of his wife Donna, Larry learned to walk, regained strength in his arm and was even able to drive his new truck. Unfortunately, love and determination were not enough to keep Larry with us.
Larry will be greatly missed by his beloved wife Donna (née Smith) of 60 years. He will be forever loved and remembered by his children Brent (Sheila), Julie (David), Darren (Raelynn) and Susan. Larry was the proud grandfather of Briana (Josh), Mikayla (Chris), Megan, Caitlin, Emma, Ashley (Kersten), Cole (Tori), Madison, and Mackenzie and special great grandfather of Huxley, Charlie, and Zoey. Larry will be missed by his extended family members and dear friends.
Larry was a dedicated and well-respected member of Kerr Lodge #230, Sheba Shrine, and Barrie and District Hunters and Anglers Conservation Club. He will be greatly missed for his strong work ethic with these organizations.
In keeping with Larry’s wishes, cremation has taken place with no formal Funeral Service. A private family interment will take place in the future at the Barrie Union Cemetery, 338 Sunnidale Rd., Barrie. Memorial donations to Sheba Shrine Children’s Hospital or Royal Victoria Hospital would be greatly appreciated by the family.
