TICKLE (DELANEY/ nee MOFFATT), Lavina Ellen –
In her 91st year Lavina peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 6th, 2013 after a long life devoted to her family, church and the community. Lavina was predeceased early in life by her husband Bob. Sister to Lenore and the late Albert and Douglas. Survived by her children Stephen (Joanne) and Judith and the very proud grandmother of Robert and Christina Delaney. Lavina graduated from the Wellesley School of Nursing and married Dr. Robert J. Delaney shortly after the war. She and Bob initially served as the medical team in Norman Wells, NWT before settling back on Blake St. in Barrie. For many years she managed the Red Cross Loan Cupboard from her home and served on the Altar Guild and as Rector’s Warden at St. Giles Anglican Church. After losing her husband she returned to work for many years as a Recovery Room nurse at Royal Victoria Hospital. Later in life Lavina married Dr. Russell Tickle and travelled the world. Lavina’s smile always brought joy to her friends and family and she unselfishly enjoyed life to the fullest. Honouring her wishes, donations to the Royal Victoria Hospital or a community charity would be gratefully appreciated by the family. Spring interment arrangements entrusted to Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Homes. Condolences may be forwarded through www.steckleygooderham.com.
