YACHIMEC, Lawrence Allan
It is with tremendous sorrow that we announce the death of Larry Yachimec. He died at home on August 1, 2010, surrounded by his beloved family after a long and courageous fight with cancer. He leaves his wife, Jill Dyck, his children Joseph and Isabella Yachimec, his parents, Sonya and Walter Yachimec, his brother Ron Yachimec and his daughter Kathryn Lanuke, his sisters Teresa Young and Patricia Runco and their children: Christopher, Leah and Lauren Young, and Keith and Reece Runco, and his extended family in Edmonton, Calgary and Athabasca, Alberta. Also left bereft, throngs of friends and colleagues, actors and theatre professionals across the country, and the many, many audiences that enjoyed Larry's work as an actor over the last 4 decades. The family wishes to thank every loving soul who contributed so generously to the Larry Yachimec Fund. A memorial will be held in Barrie, Ontario and also in Edmonton, Alberta. Larry received the most exquisite care from Dr. Rick Irvin, the oncology department at the Royal Victoria Hospital, the wonderful nurses of Bayshore Home Health and especially Christine from We Care. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made in Larry's name to the Actors Fund of Canada. "And when he shall die, Take him and cut him out in little stars, And he will make the face of heaven so fine That all the world will be in love with night And pay no worship to the garish sun." Arrangements entrusted to the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie. Condolences may be forwarded to www.steckleygooderham.com
