Foster, Lois-
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Lois Foster. After a brief illness she passed at Hospice Simcoe on November 21, 2012.
Lois touched many people’s lives with her gentle spirit and her generosity to others, always offering a helping hand or speaking a kind word. She was very involved in her church and dedicated her time and talents where they were most needed. Lois had a passion for creating beautiful things, and it made her an exceptional quilter, seamstress and crafter. In addition, a thirst for adventure made her an avid traveller, visiting countries all over Europe, the Middle East, the South Pacific, Caribbean and northern Africa. A love for the outdoors turned Lois into an outstanding gardener and lover of camping and walking. She was always drawn to the sea shore and enjoyed visiting Florida and the east coast of Canada. Lois’s hunger for knowledge made her a voracious reader and life-long learner. Because of her empathy, she became a patron of many charities. We loved her and learned a lot from her; she will be forever in our hearts and memories.
Lois was a loving and devoted mother and mother-in-law to Mark (and Kim), Allanah (and Neil), and David, also proud grandmother to Andrew and Laura (and Ryan), predeceased by husband Raymond Foster.
Friends will be received at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet's Point Rd, Barrie, on Friday, December 7, 2012, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 2 p.m. at St. George's Anglican Church. Family respectfully requests donations to St. Georges Anglican Church in lieu of flowers. Online condolences at www.steckleygooderham.com.
