Following an inspiring and courageous battle with cancer, and with loved ones by her side Lori passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie on September 5th, 2023 at the age of 61. She will be sadly missed by her parents Betty and Charles Marvin. Proud and loving mother of Devon Baker (Ariel), Dawson Fjarlie, and Savannah Fjarlie (Skyler). Cherished grandmother of Hudson. Dear sister to Dave Marvin (Charity), Karen Marvin, and Kerry Marvin (Diane).
Lori was a beautiful person inside and out who touched the lives of everyone who met her. She filled every room she walked into with her radiance. She always viewed life with the most positive outlook and lived it to the fullest.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Lori. She loved spending the days with her family and girlfriends with a glass of wine in hand. But her gregarious personality really shined while vacationing in Mexico, exploring their culture while keeping up with the latest fashions. On the occasional quiet evenings, she would fill her home with music from her piano for her dog, Lily. But most of all, she was an affectionate mother who outwardly expressed her love for her children and grandchild dearly.
A celebration of Lori’s life will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Sunday, September 17th, 2023 from 1 – 3 PM in the lounge, with words of remembrance to be shared at 1:30 PM. If desired, donations in Lori's memory may be made to the RVH Cancer Care Centre and are greatly appreciated by the family.
