Kissick, Margaret – Passed away peacefully at Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie on Saturday, January 23, 2010, with her daughter Ann Crandell at her side. Margaret is predeceased by her husband Fred and son Ronald. In her 108th year, Margaret was an inspiration to her family, including: Ann and her husband Gordon Crandell; her grandchildren Karen and husband John; Shawn and wife Helen; Dawn and husband Joseph; Beverly and husband Christopher; and, her step-grandchildren Shelley, Cindy and Kerry. Margaret also took pleasure in the company of her 12 great-grandchildren.
“Gram†to her many friends, she epitomized kindness, compassion and generosity, sharing liberally with all. The love of a good card game, legendary butter-tarts, and the strength of her friendships were but a few of the many characteristics that defined a most remarkable woman. Margaret’s renowned physical and emotional resilience continues to inspire those fortunate to have known her, and is a legacy for her family. Visitation is one hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. Funeral service on Tuesday, January 26th, at St. Georges Anglican Church in Barrie. Interment is at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto.
