September 27, 1929 – January 11, 2020
Joan was born in Toronto. She later lived in Mississauga and spent her retirement years in Alliston and then Barrie. She was a successful and independent woman who loved travelling, entertaining, lawn bowling, curling and being surrounded by friends.
Predeceased by her sister Evelyn and brother Reid. Joan will be sadly missed by her nieces Lynne and Jill (Doug), her grandnephews Robert (Denise) and Randy (Rosalyn) and great grandnephew & nieces Eric, Jordan and Rachel, cousin RJ (Christie) and her best friend of 80 years Mary. Joan was very thankful for her many great friends that she had including her sorority sisters and her friends in Alliston and Barrie.
Many thanks to her wonderful friends that visited her and supported her in her last few months and weeks allowing her to stay in her beloved apartment as long as possible. Thank you also to the kind nurses and volunteers at Hospice Simcoe.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Terraces 92 Dean Avenue., Barrie on Saturday, January 25th, 2020 from 1:30 p.m. until the time of Service at 2 p.m. Reception to follow inside the Dining Hall.
