Peacefully passed with family by her side at her home in Barrie on Monday, April 3rd, 2023 at the age of 86 years. Beloved wife of the late Manfred (2003). Loving mother of Lina Boehnke and Brian Boehnke (Lisa). Proud grandmother of Emmett (Rachel Fitzpatrick), Dennis and Hannah. Great grandmother of Payton. Dear sister of Edith (Dwight) Barkley, Delbert (Claudette) Scott, the late L.J, Cecilia, Beatrice, Louise, Ambrose, Willow, Florence, Clayton. Predeceased by her parents John and Jessie Scott. Will be missed by many extended family members and dear friends. Special mention to Ron and Jenny, Susan and Jim for their support of May and her family. Many thanks to Dorothy Kiley-Hill and Cathy from the Catholic Outreach Program who became confidantes to May.
Family in Barrie and Ottawa was everything to May. She created a warm and loving home and ensured the traditional family recipes were passed on to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, paper toll, and crochet, and loved travelling.
Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Tuesday, April 11th, 2023 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will take place the following day on Wednesday, April 12th, 2023 at the St. John Vianney Parish, 13 Baldwin Ln., Barrie at 11 am. Reception to follow inside the Parish Hall.
