Barrie, ON — Margaret Amelia “Peggy” Mason (née Spragg), 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie, Ontario.
Predeceased by her husband Sidney “Tony” Mason and her son Ian, she leaves her sons, Gary (Christine), Nicholas (Lisa) and daughter-in-law Michelle; five grandchildren – Stephen, Spencer, Kaelan (Shannon), Nicole and Duncan; great grandson Ian; and sister Betty.
Born and raised in Gotherington, Gloucestershire, England the daughter of William Spragg and Annie (née Pullen), she met husband Tony when she was only 15 years old at a village dance in Gotherington.
Peggy started her working life as a junior secretary in Cheltenham, working in that area until stopping work to raise a family. The family moved to Toronto, Canada in 1978 where husband Tony worked at IBM. After her family had grown, Peggy re-trained as a medical secretary and worked in that field until her retirement. Peggy and Tony lived in and around the Barrie area for many years, ending up at Tollendale Village in 2016. She loved living there and was very thankful for all the friendships she made there.
Her joie de vivre and caring spirit will be dearly missed by all.
