It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Marilyn Matchett, peacefully in her sleep at home, surrounded by her children.

Adored daughter to Leonard white(deceased), Blanche and Lorne Fell. Predeceased by her husband George. Incredible mama bear to Shawn, Heather (Chris), and Crystal (Kevin). Proud little gramma to Madisyn (Tory), Josh (Kiara), Brynn, Torynn (Sammy), Kayla, Breanna, Aidan, Emma, Lexi and Salem. Loving sister to Len (Jody), Al (Chris), Art (Freda), Claire (Walter), Dave (Geri), Karen (Emil) and Vern. Cherished aunt to her beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She had many chosen family and friends she loved dearly with all her being.

Marilyn kept her great sense of humour right to her last breath while fighting a chronic illness. Her Goal was always to make us laugh. Well known for her infamous deviled eggs, sewing skills, creativity, writing post it notes and lists, drinking ceasers, cheating at scrabble, collecting ‘things’, gardening, and being the best gram.

She adored all creatures (even bugs) and will be missed by her backyard furry friends. She always took care of others before herself. Always giving when she had so little; making sure no one went without.

Holiday dinners and the hearts of those who had the pleasure to know her will never be the same.

Rest easy mama, little gramma, our favourite sister, aunt Morb; Our dear friend.

Arrangements entrusted to the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie. In lieu of flowers, donations to Fur Warriors (e-Transfer to info@furwarriors.com) or to any local reputable animal rescue would be appreciated by the family.
