Dempsey (Murphy), Marjorie June-

June 1, 1919 – October 22, 2010
Born in Montreal to Emma and Willie Brighten. Marjorie died in her 92nd year. She was predeceased; her first husband Gordon Murphy, her second husband James Dempsey, and her brother Douglas Brighten. Her memory will be held in the hearts of her daughters Carol Austin and Gail Little. Her son-in-law Richard Austin and her stepchildren Sharon Phillips and Dale Dempsey will miss her. She was a hands on grandmother. Her nine grandchildren treasure their memories of summer vacations at her beloved cottage in Dorset. Marjorie leaves behind six great grandchildren. She was a working mother who kept a large garden, made pickles, and volunteered in her community. She was passionate about the outdoors and became a skilled photographer in her retirement. Together she and her husband Gord built three houses from the ground up. With her husband Jim she travelled, vacationing in Florida and Hawaii. A funeral service will be held for Marjorie at the Wyevale United Church on Wednesday, October 27, at 11:00 a.m. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
