Mary J. Long (Milne) passed away peacefully at home November 24, 2023 in her 85th year.
Mary was married to her high school sweetheart Edward (Ted) Long for 62 years and she was the proud mother to Greg Long (Amy), Julie Heitz (Joe), and Jenny Harris. She was a devoted Nana to Oliver, Teddy, John, Kate, Lucy, Natalie, Abby and Molly. Mary is survived by her much-loved sister Ina Wiley (Aunt Bobby).
Mary was born and lived her life in Barrie. She attended Barrie Central Collegiate where she was a member of the band. Mary and Ted shared a wonderful life together. Their love for one another was admired by many. They created a warm and welcoming home where many memories were made with family and friends. Mary was a talented cook and the ultimate hostess. Spoiling her children and grandchildren brought her joy.
With the notion you get what you give, Mary loved everyone and everyone loved Mary. She will be missed by all.
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
