Mary Lynne McErlean, beloved wife of the late Gerard “Gerry” McErlean (2014), passed away suddenly on Sunday May 5th 2024. Mary Lynne and Gerry had a once in a lifetime love that was a treasure to witness. They were inseparable from a young age with their shared love of music and dancing. They savored summer evenings outdoors enjoying each other's company.

Throughout her life, Mary Lynne dedicated herself to childcare, nurturing and caring for infants for over 30 years.

After the loss of Gerry, Mary Lynne had to discover a new way to find enjoyment in life again.

In recent years, found happiness spending time with family and friends at the cottage.  Nights would be spent playing cards, listening to music or having a dance party with her grandkids, Kahlan and Gwen, as well as all of the extended family and friends who blessed the cottage with their presence. More recently Mary Lynne was happy to start traveling again and was also excited to rekindle her love of childcare by becoming an amazing Nanny to Hayden.

Mary Lynne had an incredible bond with her grand doggies Brucey and Kimmie. Whether spoiling them with lovies or treats, wherever Mary Lynne was, the dogs were never far away.

Mary Lynne leaves behind her only son Shaun, whom she had an incredible relationship with, and her daughter in law Therese.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A visitation will be held at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Wednesday May 8th, 2024 from 6 – 8 pm and again on Thursday, May 9th, 2024 from 9 am until the time of the Service at 10am. The family invites you to join them for a small reception following the Service inside the lower lounge. There will be no internment at this time, as Mary Lynne will be cremated and placed to rest with her Gerry in the coming weeks at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 208 Sunnidale Rd., Barrie. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a small donation be made to Hospice Simcoe. Online condolences and memories may be shared via www.steckleygooderham.com
