LIIKANE, Matthew Rein
Our amazing son Matt died Monday, March 23, 2015, in his 22nd year, in Ottawa. Adored son of
Alison Hamilton (Bill Burns) and Jaan Liikane (June Seeger). Brother and best friend of Dustin
Liikane and James Burns. Cherished grandson of Janet Hamilton and the late Andrew Hamilton;
and the late Rein and Roode Liikane. Loved dearly by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Matt was in his final year of the law program at Carleton University in Ottawa, with aspirations to
become a lawyer. He was a past student of Minesing Central and Cundles Heights Public
Schools, and Eastview Secondary School. Family and friends will be received at the Steckley-
Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie, 705-721-9921, on Wednesday, April 1,
2015, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A celebration of Matthew's Life will be held on Thursday, April 2,
2015 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral
Home to initiate a University Scholarship in Matt's memory.
