Passed on to the spirit world on Friday, December 10, 2010 in her 72nd year. Merle (nee. Assance) was pre-deceased by her husband Donald Ross, her parents Roy and Harriet, and her stepfather Jacob. Loving mother of Steven (Lisa), Neil (Bonney), Lisa (Ernie), and Dawn (Gord). Dear grandma of Jacob (Tanya), Natasha, Shelby, Carson and Matthew, and great grandma of Onnika and Wyatt. Merle is survived by her brothers Carl, Dennis, Allan and their spouses, and her sisters Sandra and Susan and their spouses. Pre-deceased by her sisters Doris, Sheila and Lorraine, and brothers Melvin and Eric. Merle will be fondly remembered by all her nieces and nephews and extended family. Friends may call at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME, 201 Minet's Point Rd., Barrie (at Yonge St.) on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Christian Island Recreation Centre on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment at the Christian Island United Church Cemetery.
