It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Allan McDonald of Barrie Ontario at the age of 57 years. After a brief but courageous battle, he passed peacefully with his loving friends Sean Brolley and Kerry-Lee Duckworth at his side at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre on May 27th, 2020. He was the loving son of the late Allan and Theresa McDonald of Barrie Ontario, and predeceased by numerous aunts and uncles including his Uncle Alex and Aunt Katherine. He is survived by his Uncle Ran and will be sadly missed by cousins Kathy, Bob, Randy, Sheldon, as well as numerous others from across Canada. He was born in Brandon, Manitoba and raised in Barrie Ontario. He became a member of the Toronto Millwrights Union Local 2309 on September 14, 1992 and enjoyed a successful 28 year Millwright career. His faith was strong and his caring and compassion for others was enduring. He remained active in his community through ongoing involvement in St. Mary’s Church, the Knights of Columbus, New Begginings, Out of the Cold and the Cursillo Movement, to name a few. He was a gifted athlete and remained an avid golfer. In his younger days he was active in hockey, baseball and soccer. He made lasting friendships throughout his involvement with all of these activities and will be truly missed.
