Peacefully with her family by her side on March 2nd 2013, in her 86th year. Beloved wife and best friend of Dee for 67 years. Lovingly remembered by her children Elaine Fisher (Pam Burke), Brian (Charlene) and Doug (Lorraine). Survived by brother Ivan Bates (Joan). Predeceased by sisters Muriel Schlaht, Gilda Giffen and brother Delmer Bates. Cherished Grandmother of Christopher, Jeffrey, Todd, Tara, Bradley, Alexander, Andrew, Todd, Joel, Evan and ten Great Grandchildren. Family and friends will be received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Homes, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie on Tuesday March 5th 2013, from 7 pm. to 9 pm. A celebration of Norene's life will take place at Central United Church, 54 Ross Street, Barrie on Wednesday March 6th from 12 pm. until the time of the service at 1 pm. Interment at Barrie Union Cemetey to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in Norene's memory may be made to Central United Church or the Canadian Cancer Society and are greatly appreciated.
