It is with great sadness we announce that Paolo Rosario Perri passed away at Hospice Simcoe on Saturday, November 12, 2011 in his 73rd year, after a courageous battle with cancer. Most loving husband of 48 years to Amelia, wonderful dad to John (Patti) of Barrie and pre-deceased by son Claudio (Sheila) of Oro Station. Devoted Nonno to Ami, Alli, Erin, Lauren and Carli. Paolo was son of Santo and Emilia. Loving brother to Anna (Carmine), Maria (Salvatore), Franca (Mario), pre-deceased by sister Gilda (Umberto), and brothers Giovanni (Adeline) and Giuseppe (Gilda). Brother-in-law to Arnaldo (Ophelia), Italo (Maria), Francesco (Concetta), Gino (Jackie), pre-deceased by Benito (Maria) and Vittorio (Ida). He will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews and a large extended family. Paolo was one of the founding partners of Giovanni and Perri Hairstylists established in 1957, and was still active as a stylist. He was well known to many friends and family as an avid gardener, and for his love of family. Friends will be received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie, Ontario on Monday November 14, 2011 from 2-4 & 6-9 pm. Prayers will be recited that evening at 8:45 pm. Friends will also be received on Tuesday November 15, 2011 from 6-9 pm. A funeral mass to be held at St. Mary's Church on Wednesday November 16, 2011 at 10 am. Private family interment. If so desired donations can be made to the Hospice Simcoe or Royal Victoria Cancer Care Centre.
