Peacefully at home on Sunday, January 29, 2017, at the age of 68. Loving husband of Sharon. Cherished father of Jonathan (Leann), Anneliese MacPherson (Matthew), George Swire, John Swire (Karen), and Michele Williams (Tom). Will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Jonathan (Ashley), Megan (Sean), Michael (Emily), Chris (Amanda), Justin, Cayden, Mason, Kenzie, Kendyll, Adelynn, Evan, Emily, and Elizabeth, and great-grandchildren Ava-Lynn, Devin, Daymein, Emily (predeceased), Devon, Mason, and MacKenzie. Survived by his brothers Allen, Dave, Gary and Bob, and predeceased by brother Chris and sisters Storme and Gayle. Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie, on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 4 pm until the time we celebrate Richard’s life in the Chapel at 5 pm. Following the service, guests are invited to remain for a reception in the Lounge. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to CCAC, Dr. Emerson and Nurse Elizabeth for the exceptional care provided to Richard. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society and would be greatly appreciated by the family.
