Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, October 8th, 2019 at the Woods Parks Care Centre at the age of 88. Beloved husband of the late Elena (2012) for 57 years. Loving father of Vilma (Hermann) Struthmann, Deni (Glenna) Ongaro, and Rita (Maurizio) Padovan. Cherished grandfather of Christian and Tiana Struthmann, Patrick Padovan; Dana Ongaro and Lindsey Cook. Proud great grandfather of Isla and Kalina. He will be missed by many extended family members and friends in Canada and abroad. Rigo was a proud member of the St. John Vianney Church community and was a long-time usher called to be a Minister of Hospitality.
Friends will be received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, October 11, 2019 at the St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 13 Baldwin Ln., Barrie at 11 a.m. Reception to follow inside the Church Hall. Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
