Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Emily. Loving father of Carol Ann Baumstark Mercer, and her husband Dale, and Angelika in Germany. Adoring Opa of Nicole and Avery in Barrie; and Tim and Nico in Germany. Survived by his brothers and sisters in Germany. Predeceased by his parents Nella and August Baumstark, his brother Egön and sister Emgardt. Friends will be received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet's Point Rd. Barrie, on Thursday May 17, 2012 from 7-9 pm. Funeral service to be held in the Chapel on Friday May 18, 2012 at 3 pm. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
