It is with sadness that we announce that Ross Andrew Mackay passed away suddenly in
Barrie, April 2015. Ross was 65 years old.
Ross was born October 8, 1949 in Toronto, son of the late Roy MacKay and the late
Marjorie Clayton MacKay. Brother to Judith Kowalski (Kurt), Shirley Langford (Bob)
and Bruce (Yvonne). Uncle to Vicki, Rob, late Linda, Scott, Glenn, Kelly, Todd, Ryan,
Kristi and Kyle.
Ross led an adventurous and challenging life . He was born and raised in the Kingsway
of Etobicoke, graduating from Richview Collegiate and Sir Wilfred Laurier( Honours in
Business Commerce). He married Marnie Lang in 1972 and then was married to Terri
Blackwell in 1980.They had many adventures together including travelling around the
world as Terri was in the travel business. They lived in various places including Orillia,
Kitchener, Prince Rupert and Vancouver. They have a daughter Sarah, born in the west
coast, the Jewel in Ross's life. Ross had various careers including accounting,
computer marketing, investment advising and finally teaching as the business and
math department head in a Vancouver high school. Ross was an avid reader and loved
to study everything. He was very involved in his community church. Quite a
sportsman in his early days he loved to ski, bike and enjoyed the great outdoors.
Unfortunately Ross's health started to fail years ago. This took a toll on his quality of
life and judgements. He decided to return to Ontario and lived in Barrie for the last
few years. Judith, his sister and Brian Beaven , his long time friend were amazing
support and a great help for Ross. Ross was a thinker, dreamer, inventor and always on
the go. He just returned from an other adventure in England, when, as he was trying
to reorganize his life in Barrie, he sustained a fatal heart attack.
Ross you will be sadly missed by family and friends. We will always remember what
we learned from you and the good times we shared.
Donations in Ross' memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Condolences
