Rourke Patrick Howard, age 70, peacefully passed away on December 6, 2025, in Barrie, Ontario with family and friends by his side. Born on October 28, 1955, Rourke lived a life filled with joy, curiosity, and laughter. All traits he shared freely with everyone around him. As one of 13 siblings, he learned early the value of connection, generosity, and humour, qualities he carried throughout his life.
For more than 40 years, Rourke worked as a dedicated real estate agent in Barrie and the surrounding area. He was known for his professionalism, his genuine care for clients, and his ability to make even the most stressful situations lighter with his quick wit and unmistakable sense of humour.
Above all else, Rourke’s greatest pride and joy was his beloved daughter, Kalia. His love for her was evident to all who knew him, and supporting her was always at the center of his heart.
Rourke loved to explore the world, travelling both for vacation and to experience different cultures. He enjoyed kayaking, spending time outdoors, and immersing himself in nature. A lifelong music lover, he was often found at rock ’n’ roll concerts, singing along and soaking up the energy. Rourke had a natural gift for comedy — always ready with a joke, often not the most conservative, but always delivered with warmth and infectious laughter.
He will be deeply missed by family, friends, colleagues, and everyone who had the pleasure of sharing in his vibrant, generous spirit.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Saturday, December 20th, 2025, from 1–4 p.m. In keeping with Rourke’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A GoFundMe has been created for those who wish to offer support to his daughter during this difficult time.
