Heatherington, Ruth Eleanor
Passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, February 27, 2017 at the Leacock Care Centre, Orillia, at the age of 89. Ruth, formerly of Stayner, beloved wife of the late Ken Heatherington (2007). Loving mother of Jean Lyons (Ray). Predeceased by daughter Joan Ferguson. Sadly missed by John Ferguson (Tracy). Devoted grandmother of Heather Harris (John), Drew Lyons (Mary Lynn), Angela Lyons (Zak), and Jennifer Jones (Reece). Great grandmother of Ryan, Emma, Ava, Hannah and Jack. Predeceased by parents and brother Kelvin Gilchrist, and sister Cora Brown. Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews and was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and friend. Family and faith were her cornerstones as she enjoyed music and the love of her family and friends. Guests will be received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie, Ontario on Saturday March 4, 2017 at 10:30 am until the time we celebrate her life in the chapel at 12 noon. A reception will follow. Interment will take place at Stayner Union Cemetery in the spring. The family would like to take this opportunity to especially thank the staff of Leacock Care Center in Orillia for all of their wonderful care given to Ruth.
