Thompson, Ruth Marion (nee Hammond)-
Sadly, Ruth Marion Thompson passed away from an unexpected fall, leading to a serious head injury, from which she was unable to recover.
Ruth was born in London, Ontario in 1925, and became a Registered Nurse following graduation from Royal Victoria Hospital, in London, Ontario. Ruth served with the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON), and later for the School Board in Islington, Ontario. She also provided a lifetime of volunteer service to the Community.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Robert, after 67 years of marriage and daughters Catherine Anne and Roberta Jane, son Geoffrey Hammond, and granddaughters Rachel, Genevieve, and Emily.
Family and friends will be received at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie, on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 1pm until the time of the Service at 2pm in the Chapel.
