ALLEN, Scott Eric – It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Scott Allen died in Barrie, Ontario on Sunday, October 13, 2013. He was born in Ottawa, Ontario on October 30, 1961 and in the last few years Scott suffered with dignity and fought the challenges of Multiple Sclerosis. Although Scott was predeceased by his parents Norman and Theresa, he will be greatly missed by his two sisters with whom he was close missed - Sandra Simon of Oshawa, and Barbara Smith (Richard) of Pickering. He will also be missed by his nephews Eric Simon (Erin and baby Skyler) of Richmond, Virginia, Bryan Smith of Toronto, niece Jennifer Smith and her son Jaylen Smith both of Pickering, Ontario, uncle Philip Allen (Sandra Jean) of Woodstock, Ontario, and cousins Christopher Allen and his family of Woodstock, Ontario, David Allen, Daniel Allen and Shawn Allen of Trail B.C., and Natasha Allen of Toronto, Ontario and overseas relatives aunt Doris Allen, cousin Coral (Ivan) Burton and her family all of Luton, Bedfordshire, England, as well as all his friends and former clients. In recent years Scott worked as a real estate agent in Barrie until his disability prevented him from working in this field. He greatly missed talking working with clients and his co-workers. He enjoyed golf, snowboarding, fishing and he was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie, Ontario (705) 721-9921 where family and friends may bid Scottie a fond farewell. Expressions of sympathy can be left on the funeral’s home website. Donations in his name to the MS Society of Ontario may be made in lieu of flowers.
