Peacefully, and on her own terms, Sharon Eulalie Suter passed away on June 20th, 2024 after a brief but intense journey with cancer.
She is survived by her wife, Dona Champion; daughter, Jessica Cunnane and her grandchild Surreal; her brothers, David, Ken, and Neil; and a large and broken-hearted community of friends and family.
It is hard to capture her magic in an obituary, but we honour her fierce compassion for the most vulnerable among us, her passion for social justice, her love of gardening, her art, and her love of the water.
Sharon was very clear she did not want a big fuss, and we honoured her wishes with a brief visitation on the evening of June 27th from 7-9 pm at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie.
Memorial donations are encouraged for Hospice Simcoe, whose incredible staff and programs helped us all through her final days.
