COO, SHEILA STRINGER
On Thursday, April 30, 2009 in her 83rd year. Sheila Stringer Coo suddenly of a heart attack. Beloved wife of the late Laurence J. Coo. Dear mother of Kathryn Zuercher (Paul), Douglas Coo (Germaine), Michael Coo (Donna) and Daniel Coo (Lesley). Loving grandmother of John Zuercher (Samantha), Jennifer Bissell (Lee), Billy Coo, Michael Coo (Tammy), Alison Coo, Pam Bowden, Meaghan Coo, Taryn Coo, Caitlin Coo, Sean Bowden and Siobhan Coo. Proud great-grandmother of Faith Holland, Graidyn Bissell, Timothy and Leora Zuercher. Dear sister of Marilyn Husak (Nick) and predeceased by brother Douglas Stringer (Marion). Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Sheila had a long and varied career in journalism including reporting for The Toronto Star, The Etobicoke Press (editor) and OECTA Reporter magazine. She was the author of “The First Forty Years” (a history of OECTA). Friends may call at the STECKELY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME, 30 Worsley St., Barrie, on Monday, May 4, 2009 from 7-9 pm. Funeral to be held at St. Giles Anglican Church, 95 Cook St., Barrie, on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 10 am. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery.
