It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Sheila at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre on Thursday, May 29, 2014, in her 74th year. Sheila (nee Hoover) beloved wife of 56 years to Jack. Loving mother of Susan Peddle (Dave), Steven Dowdall (Myeong-Suk), Janet Dowdall (Greg), Mark Dowdall and Shelley Dowdall (Danny Nohar). Cherished grandmother of Christopher, Danny, John, Emily, Benjamin and Jack. Dear sister of Donald Hoover (Sharon), the late Judy Sturgess (surviving spouse Walter), Lori Hoover and Lynn Hodgins (Mike). She will also be missed by her nieces, nephews and other extended family. Sheila, with her husband Jack, enriched the lives of many children through their dedicated service with the Toronto Children's Aid Society. Friends may call at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie, on Monday, June 2, 2014, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral Service in the chapel on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at 1 pm, followed by cremation. If desired, memorial donations made to Cystic Fibrosis Canada would be appreciated by the family.
