The family of Shirley Harrison Yard announces the peaceful passing of our very special Mum, Nana and Shirley, on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Champain Manor in Orillia in her 89th year. She will be forever remembered and celebrated for her courageous spirit and devotion to family and friends. Predeceased by her husband Ted, bother Jack Wigham and sister-in-law Ruth.
Loving mother of Judy Gigg (Ed) of Orillia, Jack Yard (Cathy) of Timmins, Ted Yard (Darlene) of Bracebridge, and Tony Yard of Barrie. Special Nana of Tyler Gigg (Haley), Molly Baril (Craig), Mariah Yard-Lamontagne (Michael), Bridget and Brianna Yard and Jake and Alex Yard. We will be comforted by Mum's favourite “Thought for the Day” during the years in children's camping.... “ Like a pebble dropped into still waters, Shirley's (love and) influence radiates as ripples, spreading forever in all directions”. Family and friends will be received at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie, on Monday, November 8, 2010, from 2 p.m. until time of memorial service in the chapel at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Canadian Cancer Society or Soldiers Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
