It's with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, Shirley Richards (nee Newberry) January 27, 2024 at RVH Barrie Ontario.
Together Again
Mom has gone to be with our Dad Keith Richards who had to leave us August 23/2023. Their love story began when they were teenagers, and their marriage lasted 73 years.
Shirley is predeceased by her siblings, Beatrice Tower (Bud), Harold Newberry (Adeline), and Margaret Britton (Bob).
Always in our hearts and sadly missed by her children: Carol Hastie (Garry), Doug Richards (Marilyn), Ruth Mullin (late Stephen), and Tom Richards (Steven). Grandchildren: Bryan Hastie (Alysse), Michael Hastie (Sherry), Stephanie Mullin (Dan), Allison Mather (Will), Lisa Ashworth (Jarrid). Great Grandchildren: Mathew Hastie, Zachary Hastie, Carly Hastie, Sierra Hastie, Hadley Ashworth, and Avery Mather. Also missed by her dear nephews Richard Tower (Mary) and Ron Newberry (Sharron).
Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024 from 10 AM until the time we celebrate Shirley’s life in the Chapel at 11 AM. Guests are invited to remain for a reception luncheon in the lounge. Interment to follow at Barrie Union Cemetery in the Spring.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Doctor's and Nurses at RVH, that made Mom's last days with us peaceful and comfortable.
