HOWE, STANLEY CONN
October 19, 1927 - December 20, 2009. Born in Sault St. Marie, Ontario to Stanley Fred and Minerva Howe, prominent local educators. Graduated from The University of Toronto with a degree in Forestry in 1952. Married Barbara Elaine Burk in 1951. Began his career in forestry with Abitibi in Pine Falls, Manitoba. Transferred to Thunder Bay in 1969 and worked there until 1990. Predeceased by his Mother and Father in May and June of 1957. Also predeceased by his wife Barbara on February 13, 1999, and predeceased by his sister Dorothy MacAulay. Survived by his brother Robert Howe, wife Shirley of Simcoe, Ontario, brother-in law John MacAulay of Port Credit. Leaves behind children Lorne Howe of Banff, Alberta, and Stanley Conn junior, and his wife Vicki and grandsons Mathew and Graham of Barrie. His last years were made comfortable by the caring staff of home area 5 at Roberta Place. We are grateful. Family and friends may call at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet's Point Road, Barrie, on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 from 2:00 pm until time of funeral service in the chapel at 3:00 pm.
