PEARSON, Thelma Elizabeth (nee Thompson)
Thelma passed peacefully at Victoria Village Manor, Barrie, on March 3rd, 2019 -- one day after her 97th birthday. Beloved wife of the late Lloyd James Pearson (1998) for 56 years. Loving mother of Jim (Lina), Don (Carol) and Bonnie Kirkey (Ray). Cherished grandmother of Sylvia (Chad), Lorne (Kerri), Shawn (Susie), Sheri, Dave (Varsha), James (Deanna), Mike (Dayna), Catherine, and great grandmother of Kylee, Tatum, Maddy, Hannah, Owen, Grace, Kiran, Jai and Georgia.
Lovingly known as “Nanny” to most, Thelma lived a long and happy life surrounded by her family, good friends, animals and birds. Nanny’s most important role in life was to be a devoted mother and loving grand and great-grandmother to her family -- a role in which she succeeded until her last breath. She loved animals and wildlife, and had more dogs and cats throughout the years than could ever be named. Thelma’s favourite hobby was feeding the birds from her son, Jim’s home where she lived until moving to Victoria Village Manor on May 9th, 2017. While there, her family, along with the wonderful nurses, PSW’s and support staff continued to make her feel comfortable and ‘at home’. As named by Melanie, one of her favourite caregivers, Nanny was “Princess Thelma, Queen of Victoria Village.” Nanny will forever be loved and missed by her family and so many more whose lives she has touched.

Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Sunday, March 17th, 2019 from 11 am until the time we celebrate Thelma’s life in the Chapel at 1 pm. Following the service, guests are invited to remain for a reception in the Lounge. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Barrie Humane Society would be greatly appreciated by the family. Online memories and condolences may be forwarded via www.steckleygooderham.com
If flowers grow in heaven Lord, then pick a bunch for me.
Then place them in my Nanny's arms and tell her they're from me.
Tell her that I love and miss her, and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for a while.

Condolences
